I-Beam

time is a truth local to the moment

Now is not an insertion cursor between the words of my life story. A blinking I-beam sliver of moment cannot be seen while living in it.

Now does not appear as some thin Here between Once-was and what Will-occur. There’s no There where there is no cursor, for Now is both Recall and Guess the future.

Now is a truth local to the moment. An expression of imagination, convenient but disappointing temporal travellers who wish for worlds beyond the blink.

“When not writing, I’m riding—eBike, motorbike, and a mow cart that catches air down the hills. One day I’ll have Goldies again.”
