Let’s Pretend

there is no real in denial

Let’s pretend it doesn’t end. The party goes on forever. Don’t say goodbye, just deny. When is it over? Say ‘never.’ The strategy is quite simply to imagine they’ve moved away. Not gone of course, so no remorse. You’ll see them again some day. That day’s tomorrow. Today, no sorrow. Tomorrow is never today. If they come to mind, you’ll likely find it’s as though they’re here anyway.
